In the words of a refugee...

"We're not sure what will happen in the future. . . My family fled when I was just a baby. I came back because this is my homeland."

These are the words of Abdul, who shared his fears with Refugees International in south Sudan. His family, village, and country are preparing for a vote for independence that may permanently split Sudan in two.  For twenty years he lived in exile. Today, he again faces the threat of violence.
"For some of us who have left before, we would rather die here than leave again."

We cannot let this be his choice. Over the past several months we have spoken to many like Abdul. We have heard a chorus of concerns for families caught in the complex web of the referendum while struggling to rebuild their lives.

Right now, your support is critical. Donate to Refugees International today.

Your funding gives us the important opportunity to carry forward our efforts to:
-Ensure the U.S. and international community do all they can to prevent a resumption of war between north and south;
-Protect people from the potential loss of citizenship and human rights abuses if the south votes to separate;
-Guarantee that communities have access to the basics -- water, education, health care, protection from harm and increase support for women's programs.

At the year's end, we must raise critical funds to sustain our work. Around the world -- from Sudan to Pakistan to Haiti -- powerful voices like Abdul's must be amplified into lifesaving action. We accept no government or UN funding and cannot accomplish our humanitarian mission without your support.

In the most challenging times, Refugees International has been successful because of the generous support of individuals like you.

Give today.

Thank you!
