do you remember this? i was trying to raise awareness and funds for charity: water's september campaign to buy a drilling rig for faster well-digging in africa. about eleven of us bloggers were offered the opportunity to blog about the september campaign, and the top four to bring in the most traffic would get their name engraved on the new rig.
well, i hadn't heard back from them since mid-october, so i wasn't super hopeful that i was one of the lucky four. but then yesterday i got this WONDERFUL email:
It's been a few months since your blog post about charity: water's September Campaign, but I wanted to let you know how much we appreciate your continued support. I'm so happy to let you know that your blog post was one that generated the most traffic to our site on September 30. This means that you've won the chance to have your name on the rig our September Campaign funded this past year for our partners in northern Ethiopia!
We’ll be in touch soon with more details. Once everything is ready to go, you will receive pictures and GPS coordinates so you can follow the impact of your efforts from village to village.
In case you missed it, check out our article about reaching our goal for September Campaign and what that means for the additional 40,000 people per year the rig will help: http://www.charitywater.org/blog/sept-2011-update/
We couldn't have done any of this without your support. I'm looking forward to seeing your name on the rig!
Best,
charity: water
